Bret, Jemaine and James (co-creator/director) said “we’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season. We’re very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it. While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.
A very sad 54 year old with a very sad 19 year old….Loved this show and still laugh when I think of the gang episode…..Wish you all the best but wish you would change your minds……Canada loves you

It’s a sad thing that you won’t be able to make season 3 but also can understand it. You’ll always have your faithful following and I’m sure we all look forward to seeing what all of you do in your ever growing careers:)

I’m sorry that Conchords won’t be back. There was some gold in the second season. Murry’s opera thing in the first episode. That Lord of the Rings spoof – “We’ll never make it . . . we made it!” Classic stuff. This was one of the shows I really looked forward to.

This sucks, as FOTC was one of the best series ever.
HOWEVER, to all of you that are freaking out about the show ending, I challeng YOU to write an album’s worth of songs (and play them) and come up with hilarious dialogue and original situations for 10 half-hour episodes with just you and one other friend.
To anyone that thinks Bret and Jemaine are selfish because they’re EXHAUSTED and would rather get out while they’re still ahead instead of burning out, I ask you WHO is selfish? Give these guys a break. They brought you all 2 seasons of golden moments. You should be thankful for even that – where the fuck do you get your sense of entitlement?
Bret & Jemaine: Sad to see you go, but THANK YOU! Hopefully we might see a couple special episodes or a new album in the works some day. Take it easy!

Well, it is sad but true that all things must end, and I have to concede that after shows have been on HBO for awhile they tend to lose momentum. So often brilliant to start, but perhaps the corporate environment isn’t so good for talented people. So perhaps better to go out on a high note? And thanks for letting us know.

So very, very sad. I have acutally cancelled my HBO subscription. I realized watching the same movies over and over without any FOTC just wasn’t worth it!

I’m so so so so sad that you guys aren’t comin back for a 3rd season!! I reference to the show with my friends on a day to day basis and blast the music in my car. I hope maybe in the future you guys will change your minds and bring it back but for now I’ll just watch the seasons over and over again and hopefully you guys will tour again in the US

Did any of you ever think, that maybe they are going to work on a CD first and surprise all of us by making a 3rd season off that CD like season 1? Both season 1 and 2 of the show were awesome squared! But season 1 was a little better imo. Just a thought…. We always have Demetri Martin for now….

Hello Bret its Bowie again I’m on my computer in space Bret, there has been a lot of talk about you stopping your tv show Bret you just gotta bring it back man, it would be freaky Bret.
I see a Flight of The Conchords Movie in the future… and I don’t blame them for not doing a third season. That kind of comical genius takes time to perfect. Season two was definitely not as funny as the first. It would have continued to go downhill if they had done a third season
My boyfriend, my friends and myself love you guys and loved the show. We are all really sad that you guys won’t be making another season. We quote the show and listen to your songs all the time. I mean, I pretty much got HBO so I could watch your show (though HBO is a great channel regardless…just sayin’). I will miss seeing you guys and the other great cast members the show had too. The show was really a gem and I will love what there was but would have loved to see more.
I’m sad about no third season. Really sad. Have the albums and the DVD’s but i’ll never be able to see them live. Lasttime they came to cleveland it was $70 to see them live. PLease dont charge that much. I saw Tim and Eric live and MST3K live for $25 each.
